Backyard or patio is a place where you can do whatever you want. While making the design of your patio, you can show your fantasy, creative skills and good taste. Construction of modular outdoor fireplace kits is very popular nowadays. If you want to improve your patio or yard, an outdoor fireplace kits is a perfect way to arrange your living space. It will give you a lot of possibilities:

  • You can cook a meal over your fireplace;
  • You can spend time outdoors with your family and friends;
  • You can make a barbecue party;
  • You can spend romantic summer evenings near the glow of fire.

The big advantage of outdoor fireplace kits is that they are relatively easy to set up. So, we have pulled interesting information to help you in choosing the fireplace you need. It’s so easy to make your family evenings cozy and enjoyable!

Tips For Choosing Outdoor Kits

You must know that construction of an outdoor fireplace kit may cardinally change the view of your patio. That’s why it’s important to make the right choice. There are different types of fireplace kits. You must learn about them. They are as easy and quick in installation (can be assembled in a few days) as possible. There are also portable units which you can set up wherever you want. All you need is just to disassemble the fireplace and move it.

Before choosing, think about the material it will be made from. It can be:

  • Stucco;
  • Brick;
  • Stone;
  • Faux stone.

Then you need to determine the style of your outdoor fireplace which has to supplement the general style of your house or maybe add some beauty and value to your home.

There are two main kinds of outdoor fireplaces kits:

Wood burning fireplace insert models;

These models are perfect for cooking. If you want to amaze your family and friends with delicious dishes or make bbq, you should choose wood-burning outdoor fireplace kits. If you like the smell of natural wood (you can make it aromatic by adding apple wood or pine cones, for example), these models are for you! Disadvantages of these models are that they are more expensive and harder in exploitation than gas-fired models.

Gas fireplace inserts models;

These models are easier in exploitation than wood burning models. If you don’t want to worry about cleaning ashes, gas fireplace inserts models are just for you.

Remember, outdoor fireplace kits are safe, but don’t forget to keep to safety precautions. Keep fire-extinguisher nearby. Whatever you choose, you’ll make a great present of comfort, luxury and unforgettable memories in your life!

For a very long time now, the fireplace is firmly rooted in the minds of people as the ultimate symbol or comfort and over all “hominess”. Even those who have never had the experience of sitting in front of a fireplace can relate to the intrinsically positive image of a warm, safe, and controllable fire merrily crackling in front of you as you relax after a hard day’s work. The problem is that many modern homes do not come equipped with a fireplace, and those that often remain unused or rarely used. After all, the primary function of the fireplace was to provide basic heating. This function has been deemed mostly obsolete with the introduction of centralized heating, and tending to a fireplace is in many cases dirty, expensive, and even dangerous. One of the answers to this problem has been the introduction of gas fireplace inserts.

gas fireplace inserts

A fireplace insert is a device mounted into existing fireplace masonry with the main purpose of making the operation of the fireplace safer, easier, and more fuel-efficient. There are many types of fireplace inserts, classified by fuel type.  Gas fireplace inserts are one of the most popular types due to their convenience. Operated with a simple on/off switch, a dial, or even with a remote control, gas fireplace inserts allow a realistic display of flames while also providing enough heat to a room even in the case of temperatures far below zero. The only things that are missing from a gas fireplace are the characteristic smell of burning wood and the cackling of fire, but mostfind this to be a fair trade for a cleaner, safer, and more easily controlled fire.

Such fireplaces are often placed in bedrooms and bathrooms. Their main perceived advantage is that none of the heat produced escapes through the chimney or any other venting system. The flipside of this is that the fireplace uses up the oxygen in a room and that any potentially harmful fumes are not immediately expelled. To deal with this, many vent free fireplaces are equipped with Oxygen Depletion sensors, which automatically kill the flame if the oxygen levels in a room fall below a certain level. The additional risk for ventless fireplaces is that they leave no room for error and have to be perfectly assembled, expertly installed, and properly maintained to be completely safe.
